EXPLORING THE WORLD

If I was invited to join Nainoa at sea the ten food that I would bring would be:

1. Potatoes 

2. Carrots

3. Olives 

4. Kumara

5. Canned food

6. Sealed salad

7. Biscuits

8. Bottled water

9. Muesli bars

10. Pineapple

That is the food I would bring if I joined Nainoa for 3 weeks at sea.

Twelve Days Of Kiwi Christmas

We are learning to make a kiwiana 12 days of Christmas.

We worked in groups with people from room 1.

I worked with Cassidy, Toby, Ceejay and  Olivia.

All of the 12 days are related to new zealand.

We all got at least 3 slides each. 

We got to change the background and the font. 

Also we could  change the colour of anything.

I found it easy to write the words and colour it.

I found it hard to change the background because my group kept changing it to silly stuff.

Next time I could tell my group calmly to not change the background on the slide I am doing.

Art/Colouring

 We are learning to colour a painting that someone has already painted.

If you do manaiakalani you can register into this program called the summer learning journey.

 This is a template of the paintings.

The one in the big square is the one I coloured and the painting next to it is the real one.

The painting is called THE SIESTA and the artist is PAUL GAUGUIN.

The text box with the most writing is why I coloured it different than the real painting.

I found it easy to pick the painting I wanted and I also found it easy to find who made it and what was it called.

I found it hard to find the template.

Next time I could try copy the real painting. 

Also next time I could complete the task in the given amount of time.

What christmas means to me

We are learning to write about what christmas means to you. We had to make a christmassy slide at the start to attract the readers. Then we had copy and paste our writing to the other slide.

Moment in time

We are learning to recreate a video about a squirrel and a hawk. We worked in our morere co-operative groups. We had to pick to write about the hawk or the squirrel. I picked the squirrel because I feel like there was more to write about it.

I found it easy to pick what character I wanted to be.

I found it hard to think of what to write.

Next time I will maybe write about the hawk.

My Media Graphic

We are learning to copy a quote of someone then put a image and background that matches and to see if things are true or fake. 

I found it easy to make the design of the  slide.

I found it hard to find a quote I liked.

Acrostic Poem About Fireworks

We are learning to create an acrostic 

 poem about Fireworks because it was guy fawkes a couple days ago. All our class watched the teachers as they let of some sparklers. The sparklers looked super cool. I went to the speedway and saw lots of different shapes and colours.

I found it easy to get the words the right size on the slide.

I found it hard to think of things to put in the poem so it makes sense. 

Next time I could complete the task in the given time.

Awapuni School Athletics Reflection

 

This is a reflection about our Awapuni School athletics day.

On Athletics day we started with sprints witch is were you just sprint to the finish line. 

Secondly the year five girls did two hundred metres and I came fourth. 

Thirdly the year fives went to ball throw most people were good at it. 

Then we went to my favourite the long jump the reason why it's my favourite is because last year I came second but I didn't place this year.

It was our last thing the high jump. My best friend came second when the bar  was up to the interschool height. I think I came fourth.

AHUA

We are learning to teach people the different names in maori. I hope people enjoy my second maori blog post.

I found it easy to make the shapes and think of how to type and to make it look good.

I found it hard to complete the task because spell check kept thinking the maori words were wrong but they were right.

Next time I could make more harder shapes like an OBLONG.  

My Postcard #2

We are learning to know when something is a scam. I know that if there is https at that start of a URL means the website is safe. That if you get email that makes you put in your email, password and other personnel stuff from a bank check/call your bank and see if they sent you the email and not a scammer and if you see advertisements like a free phone or free candy it's probably a scam.

I found it easy to complete the task in the given time.

I found it hard to take the photo because I was outside and it was hard to see my screen. 

Next time I will maybe put myself in a game or put more detail in my backgrounds.

Nga Tae

We are learning to teach people what the maori words for different colours are. We had to create a google slide and do something that will teach someone what the colours are in maori.

I found it easy to think of the idea of putting coloured squares on the slide and writing in them.

I found it hard to remember the maori names of some colours.

Next time I will make my squares more tidier.

My Postcard

I found it easy to create my background and to make my photo have no background.

I found it hard to write my story on my post card and to create my post card stamp.

Next time I will write more and make it detailed. Next time I will also put some more photos on the first slide.

10 Things That Make A Good Recount

Grace and I had to list 10 things that a quality recount needs this is what we thought:

• Paragraphs

• Punctuation

• Descriptive Words

• Facts

• Clear Spaces Between Our Words

• Full sentences

• Recent times

• Nouns

• Introduction

• Similes

Me and Grace wrote down five things each. I wrote Paragraphs, Full sentences, Recent times, Introduction and Similes.

I found it easy to write down the five things on the list.

I found it hard to think of the ideas.

Next time I will think of more detailed words to put in our list.

My goal for this term is to include all the stuff on our list into all the recounts I do.

Ways to encourage birds to our school grounds

We are learning how to encourage birds to come to our school grounds. We had to do a google drawing about how to get birds in our school grounds. I thought we could plant lots of kowhai trees, put a bird house in the trees so that it can feel comfortable in the tree, also put a bird feeder in the tree so the birds can eat and drink and put some traps so we can catch the threats and save the birds and we would put caution tape around the traps so little kids don't touch them.

I found it easy to make the trees because I only needed to do five things.

I found it hard to make the bird feeder because I had to put a lot of detail into it so it looks good.

Next time I will make my lines straighter and make the background more colourful.

New Zealand birds

We are learning to research NZ birds. We worked in our co-operative groups for morere hot springs and we had to go to a website that said lots of things about the birds. Everyone worked on a different slide. We had to find out information about What is a bird?, Endemic birds, Native birds and Introduced birds. I got to do the endemic birds with Cassidy. 

I found it easy to find information about endemic birds on the website and find images.

I found it hard to polyline my own bird and to write the facts in my own words.

Next time I will  put a better background so it's easier to  read the text without the white behind it.

Rangi and Papa E book

We are learning to do an E book about Ranginui and papatuanuku. We worked in our co-operative groups and as a team worked on one slide each to recreate the story about Rangi and Papa. We all had a part to do on our planning page I got to do the part when Tane Mahuta pushed Rang and Papa away so that they could explore and have light.

I found it easy to create my slide and get it done in time it was easy because I got lots of help and my co-operative group supported me and I got it done.

But it was super hard to do the decoration and polyline so a buddy in my co-operative group polylined it and drawed the gods then copy and pasted them on my slide.

Next time I will work on making my own polylined picture of Rangi and Papa and putting a lot of detail into it.

The Environment Is Our Responsibility

For writing we are learning to make a persuasive writing about if the environment is our responsibility. In my opinion I agree that we should all look after the environment because streams and rivers are  getting polluted and hurting animals.

I found it easy to research about the topic and get lots of evidence to support my reasons and also to make the reader agree and think that it is bad to have rubbish in our environment.

I found it hard to think of reasons and sentence starters because I couldn't think of much reasons to to match the topic.

Next time I will work on making the same backgrounds and the same font size and maybe put more detail and better words in my writing.

Book Review

For our reading we have to do a book review about our main text Up the pipe  the reason it's called up the pipe and not down the pipe is because they were going from landfills to houses. I really like book reviews.

I found it easy to write what I learnt and rated how many stars and if I would recommend it do a friend.

I found it challenging to get the text boxes in the write place and write a resean for In my opinion, My favorite part is, You should read this book because and I think. I also found it hard to think of ideas.

Next time I will put capital letters for nouns and not put capital letters in the middle of sentences.

How to make your scratch talk

We are learning to teach people who are new to sratch how to do stuff. I am showing you how to make your sprite talk.I found it easy to put the blocks down .I found it hard to explane how to put the blocks down.Next time I will put a bit more information.

 

Persuasive poster

 We are learning to make a persuasive poster to see if people want to buy our items.

I found it easy to draw my headphones on my draft.

I found it hard to draw with polyline on google drawing .

Next time I will write more and add more colour.

 I like scratch it's very fun.
